Senator Phillip Haddick Phillip Haddick is a small, dark human male with greasy black hair and a goatee which he strokes habitually. Haddick is a bigot and cares little for the citizens of his district. His lavish gifts to other powerful people as well as his (usually paid for ) support of their ideas in the Senate makes him too powerful to remove on the grounds of mismanagement, however. Rumors abound of Haddick's affiliation with the Thieves Guild, but no proof has ever been brought forward. Warehouse Residents These poor souls are homeless street people who have nowhere else to turn. They seek shelter in the abandoned warehouses and businesses of the district and eat whatever they can beg or scrounge. Usually, this is scraps from the taverns and rat. Many suffer from disease and all fear the darker, more villainous things that walk the streets at night. To be a homeless citizen in this district is to live on borrowed time. Roywen Sheppen: A small, middle aged gnomish woman, Roywen runs the tiny school she established in the 1/2 orc settlement to educate the unwanted and forgotten children who live here. Roywen is surprisingly unfazed by the rough nature of her students and their parents, and through an equal measure of kindness and ferocity, this tiny woman has earned the respect of her pupils, most of whom could snap her like a twig should they desire. Gillam: A fourteen year old 1/2 orcish boy, Gillam is fast friends with Alexander, a human boy who lives across the city in the citizen's district. Having shared a grand adventure together (Which nearly resulted in their deaths) these boys have a strong bond. Gillam wishes to become a gladiator when he is of age, as such he is frequently seen at the Arena. The Hermit Almost nothing is known of this stooped, hooded figure who ventures from his hut rarely and then, seemingly, only to stare out to sea. He bothers no one and speaks not at all. One rumor is that he is the elven husband of a beautiful female sea captain who went to sea during the Cataclysm and never returned. Lucius Fenris A dark human male, Fenris is Centurian of the district legion. Fenris has greasy black hair and a sparse beard and mustache. There is little doubt that Fenris is corrupt, but no proof has ever been presented that led to an official charge. Many suspect that he is under the protection and orders of Phillip Haddick, who sends Fenris and his men on errands of profit or malice, and then covers their tracks for them. Jillian Tealeaf This middle-aged Halfling woman has brown hair, blue eyes and a radiant smile. Though she makes her home in a dangerous section of the city, she walks without fear among its inhabitants. Some say she is under the protection of the Thieves Guild lord, others say she is one of Eodelonon's favorites and the goddess watches over her little daughter personally. Jillian is a good conversationalist and is always kind to strangers, of which she says, there are none. Jay Markham A handsome human male in his late thirties, Markham wears his long brown hair in a pony tail and sports a well-trimmed beard and mustache. He is the owner and proprietor of the Setting Sun, a tavern established by his great grandfather when he was trapped in the city during the Cataclysm. Markham keeps a clean place and his clientele are not as rough and rowdy as those of the Stevedore. Markham is well in tune with the goings on in the district, as well as many things from the surrounding ones as well. Lilly A pretty human female in her late twenties, Lilly has short blonde hair and is pleasantly plump. She has worked at the Setting Sun for most of her adult life, having found Jay Markham to be a good employer and a good friend. Lilly has never married, a heartbreaking split with a longtime boyfriend having soured her on the males of the species. Now, years later however, she is thinking of giving men a second chance. Rowhouse Residents Like those in the Citizen's district, these souls are only one step away from living on the streets. Their homes are tiny and crowded and their biggest concern is if the rats that scamper across them at night are diseased. Most are perpetually hungry, their diet consisting mostly of the rats they catch and the meager vegetables they can buy or steal from the small area gardens. Edmund LaSalle Edmund LaSalle is a human male, handsome and lean. He appears to be in his early-middle years but is probably much older. Many speculate that the wealthy citizen is actually the Lord of the Thieves Guild, though none can prove it. LaSalle gives frequently to the poor, and many in the district worship him as their savior. A frequent guest at dinner parties, LaSalle is polite, cultured and intelligent and lives in what is known as the Dockmaster's home. |
