1. Palace of Emperor Rufalus Caesar
This magnificent stone structure is the home of Il Senso De Acqua's leader, Rufalus Caesar. Caesar is a balding, overweight man who is a lifelong politician. Caesar has inherited the city from his father, and he is somewhat resentful that Il Senso is in such condition. Knowing the proud history of the Caesars of IL Senso de Acqua, Rufalus wants to see his city returned to her former glory before he dies. His plan to send citizen adventurers out into the world is a desperate one, he knows, but Rufalus also knows his Legion cannot both explore the country and defend the city. The mansion sits on perfectly groomed grounds and twin status of Caesar's ancestors adorn the fountains that spray clear water into the air. Rufalus' bigotry of the demi-human races is hereditary. Shortly after the Cataclysm began, many dwarves, elves and Halflings entered the city, fleeing the approach of the hoards that were ravaging the land. The feeling among most of Il Senso's ruling class has always been that these refugees were a burden on their city, and that if they had not been allowed in so many years ago, the current problems plaguing the city would not have come to pass. See this location on the map.

2. Senate
This large, marble building houses the Senate chambers and the Praetorian Guard, Caesar's personal troops. Inside, the walls are painted with scenes of bygone days of glory and prosperity. The central Senate chamber is a small amphitheater that can seat several hundred citizens on its benches while the Senate deliberates on the floor below. Most proceedings are open to the public but few attend, as the constant debating becomes boring after a time. The Praetorian Guard is a squad of twenty veteran legionnaires who accompany the Emperor wherever he goes. They are a formidable force and are led by Captain Cassadorius Flavius, the Emperor's nephew. Flavius is a human male of small stature whose appointment to the position is political. He has no real military experience and demands respect from those around him while doing little to earn it. Nevertheless, the Guard follow his orders without question, as failure to do so is punishable by death. See this location on the map.

3. The Library of Knowledge
This high, solidly built tower houses the City of Il Senso De Acqua's library. It serves as a repository of knowledge and of learning. The head Librarian is an elderly human male known as Aldamar the wise. Among his librarians are several elves and dwarves. Aldamar knows too well that these races outlive his own and they are the true keepers of knowledge. The library consists of eight floors connected by a circular staircase. Four of these floors are the library proper, with bookcases and scroll alcoves lining the walls. Three other floors are classrooms where the librarians teach those who seek their wisdom. The top floor is Aldamar's sanctuary and living place. He can be seen some nights atop the tower, charting the movement of the stars. Unfortunately, during the attacks on the city both in the Cataclysm and the raids after, much of the library was damaged by fire. Nearly all of the knowledge of Myrrdin's geography, towns and peoples were lost. What remains are collections of myths, legends, bestiaries and sea charts. This lack of knowledge of their own land is a driving factor in the Senate's plan to send out explorers to rediscover their own world. See this location on the map.

4. Street of the gods
This wide avenue is often bustling with citizens visiting the temples and shrines that line the road. The central well here serves the needs of many of the citizens of the city, but it is now failing; its waters becoming tainted with sea water. The Legion maintains a strong presence here, to quell any religious debates that get out of control. Nearly all of the "benevolent" deities are represented on the street of the gods, even the non-human deities, though their temples are usually smaller than those allowed for the more traditional gods and goddesses. See this location on the map.

4a. Temple of Cadaem
This temple is the most popular in the city as most of Il Senso's citizens worship the god of valor. The Emperor's advisor also serves as high priest at the temple. Brutus Martinus is an imposing, barrel-chested human male with a thick mane of whitish hair and a full beard. His voice is deep and resonant and when he speaks it is with total conviction to his causes and ideals. Martinus believes totally in the ability of the Legion and is opposed to the Emperor's plan of exploration. He is, unlike many, not biased toward demi-humans, knowing many; dwarves in particular, share Cadaem' vision of valor, honor and bravery. See this location on the map.

4b. Temple of Aaver
This temple to the sun god is almost as popular as Cadaem'. In fact, many citizens worship each equally. The high priest of Aaver, known as Father Albert, preaches Aaver's superiority over all other, lesser deities. His messages are often laced with anti-humanoid sentiment and it is his teachings that provide fuel to the bigotry against demi-humans among the general populace of the city. Albert is rotund, balding and wears a long, white and gold cassock which is often stained by his last meal. See this location on the map.

4c. Shrine to Ison
This temple to the god of roads has become more popular than ever of late. With his domains of luck, protection and travel, many would-be adventurers have turned to this god for guidance and protection in the days before they set
out on their adventures. In the days before the Cataclysm, Ison's roadside shrines were a common site across Myrrdin. Now, it is unknown if any still exist. This temple is led by high priestess Morgana Langtree, a human woman with graying hair. Morgana welcomes all who enter her temple and is always ready to chat. See this location on the map.

4d. Temple of Gannan
The temple to the god of magic is a dark and foreboding place. Strange colored smoke rises from its central point and often strange chanting can be heard from within. These are misunderstood signs however. The followers of
Gannan are harmless seekers of knowledge, both physical and arcane. The priests of Gannan strive daily to rediscover the lost knowledge of the powerful spells that once struck fear into the city's enemies and also provided water for its life. Tamblyn Sartorus serves as high priestess of Gannan. Tamblyn appears to be a beautiful human female but slight points on her ears and the upturned corners of her eyes show her elven half. Dressing provocatively at all times, Tamblyn has attracted many male followers whose interests lie in uncovering something more than magical secrets. See this location on the map.

4e. Shrine to Urse
This temple is vine covered and seems to be striving to become one with nature again. Most of its worshippers are elves or half-elves though a number of humans and Halflings are also counted among its congregation. The leader of the temple is an Elven male of middle years. He is known as Quarion Meliamnend and is a stern but charismatic leader. This temple has suffered many acts of vandalism over the years from the bigoted humans of the city, and Quarion is growing tired of the lack of response to his complaints to the guard. He and others of the church are considering patrolling their temple grounds at night to discourage vandals. See this location on the map.

4f. Temple of Apom
This temple's patrons are almost completely made up of the city's athletes and gladiators, though some hangers-on who seek to curry favor among these celebrities also come here to at least appear to worship the god of strength. A majority of times, the services to Apom culminate in a round of wrestling and boxing matches mediated by the high priest Gunnar Haroldson. Haroldson is a huge human male with long blonde hair and a full mustache which drapes below his chin. Once a gladiator of great renown, old age and a multitude of injuries forced his retirement. Now at just over fifty years old, Haroldson is still an imposing figure more than capable of showing the younger generation a trick or two. He revels in a good contest of strength and skill and following the wrestling matches, it is customary for the worshippers to retire to the lower level of the temple for wine or ale and the telling of lies. See this location on the map.

4g. Shrine to Cymeraz
This temple is often confused with Urse's as the two look nearly identical. Since the two deities are rivals, there is no love lost between their worshippers either. Several small-scale brawls have erupted on the Street of
The gods when worshippers of these two deities engaged in heated philosophical disputes. Quarion has even accused the Cymeraz head priest of sending his followers to vandalize Urse's shrine. These accusations are hotly refuted. Cymeraz's head priest is a human male of middle years named Gaius Trecko. Trecko rose from obscurity a decade ago to lead Cymeraz's congregation following the sudden death of its former high priest, Lawrence Harcott. Trecko is a charismatic leader and seems genuinely attuned to Cymeraz's teachings and his ways. See this location on the map.

4h. Temple of Tavecus
This temple boasts a small but boisterous congregation of humans who feel that it is time for Il Senso De Acqua to regain its place of glory on the continent of Myrrdin. They preach the destruction of the evil hordes that are said to roam the lands now, and are totally in favor of the Legion marching out to do battle with the vermin, and wipe them from the face of the planet. The idea of sending adventurers is met with some skepticism by the worshipers of Tavecus who feel that an organized, properly pious campaign is the right way to go. Tavecus' high priest is named Daedalus Terricks. He is a young human in his early thirties who is fond of fiery speeches and of waving a mace about while he preaches. See this location on the map.

4i. Shrine of Nimm Diamondeyes
This small temple serves as a place of worship for the bulk of the city's gnomish population. Shamel Turin serves as Priestess here. An elderly gnomish woman, Shamel seems perpetually sad or tired. It is thought that she
might be dying, or that she is simply overwhelmed by the suffering of the demi-humans of the city, and the plight of the city in general. Her young apprentice, Jebeddo Beren, waits not-too-patiently for his master to retire, so that he may assume the mantle of leadership and, as he sees it, usher in a new age of prosperity for the gnomes. He has a small but growing number of supporters. See this location on the map.

4j. Temple of Merazin
The god of Dwarves has a large and loud congregation of worshippers. Led by Cedric Hammerhand, when the dwarves are in full religious furor the entire Street of the Gods shakes with the stamping of feet and the pounding of hammers and anvils. Mead and Dwarven ale is handed out freely at these services and anyone passing by is apt to be swept inside to join in the celebration, despite their race or religious preference. Hammerhand is fully aware of the city government's position on Demi-humans, and is also aware of the plan to put Stonechest in a senatorial position as soon as possible. Hammerhand supports this plan, for he feels then the dwarves will be in a better position to expand their holdings in the city and become equals with the humans... If not more. See this location on the map.

4k. Shrine of Ingraya
This shrine to the Halfling goddess has many worshipers in the city, and not all of them are Halflings. Her motherly ways and the feeling of protection and prosperity provided by her teachings have endeared her to many humans and a few elves as well. Most believe it is through her divine hand that the crops of the city have prospered for as long as they have, and all seek her blessings when the city expands into the countryside. Priestess Synne Goldenhair leads her followers much as Ingraya would. The matronly Halfling woman acts as mother, grandmother and confidant to all her "children". Synne has, upon occasion, attempted to bring food to the starving in the warehouse district, but bands of roving street thugs usually intercept her and her small band of charity givers and take the food before it reaches its destination. Synne's requests to the Warehouse district's Senator for guards to escort her have so far been refused. See this location on the map.

4l. Shrine to Xorunil
This small shrine attracts few worshipers as the elves who follow the deity prefer to worship him in the safety and seclusion of their groves. However, the priest of Xorunil, Laucian Nailo still holds services regularly. This shrine too has suffered vandalism and some violence against its members.
Laucian believes, however, that only a peaceful solution to the bigotry will solve the city's problems. Violence against its human citizens will only cause the Senate to press the humanoids harder under its thumb. See this location on the map.

4m. Shrine of Eodelonon
This small, house-like shrine is more of a meeting place for the followers of the god of rogues. Long thought to be a gathering place for the thieves of the city, the Legion has kept this building under surveillance for many months. So far, they have found no evidence of anything except a peaceful, harmless congregation of worshippers. The leader of this shrine is a half-elven female known as Lady Elvira. Her true name and background is unknown and if not for the uprising it might cause, the Legion would have arrested her long ago to find out the truth. Elvira is a beautiful woman who, like Tamblyn Sartorus, believes in dressing to impress. Her garb usually consists of tight leather pants and a matching halter top. What actually goes on in the building is known only to its members, and so far none of them are talking. See this location on the map.
