Master Grimm
Master Grimm is a tall, stooped human male of indeterminate but certainly old age. Grimm wears a voluminous black cloak and carries a crystal topped walking staff. He rarely ventures into the city proper, but when he does he is an imposing figure, often accompanied by several of his apprentices, arrayed around him like a guard of honor. Those who have studied in his tower are sworn to never reveal its secrets, so little is known of the Arcane Tower itself and less about its ominous lord and master.

Magical Market Merchants and Shoppers
A wide variety of witches, warlocks, wizards, priests sorcerers and the curious are often found in this area. The same can be said for the proprietors of the various shops; many of whom have little practical experience in their fields, but good business sense.

Elura Gloriel
The High Priestess of Naslam, Elura Gloriel is seen rarely and only as a fleeting, cloaked figure. Some rumors say she is a Drow, others that she is a ghost. Some whisper that she is something much, much worse. Only the worshippers of the goddess would know for sure, and they are wisely not divulging Gloriel's secrets. Gloriel never answers any summons to the Senate, but sends a representative instead. This is, of course, a serious offense in the eyes of Caesar, but for some reason he simply fumes on her defiance and does nothing to punish her or her temple.

Legion Soldiers
The soldiers of the Il Senso Legion are professionals. While there are those in their ranks who do little to promote the image of tough, battle ready soldiers, even they are competent warriors. Each patrol is led by a sergeant (Optio)a tough veteran or promising youth on his way up the ranks. Usually armed with spear and short sword, wearing either studded leather or banded mail, and carrying a large shield, these men are a force to be reckoned with.

Senator Vanderis Grackis
Vanderis Grackis is a portly middle aged human male with greying hair and a round, pleasant face. He is well liked by those in his district as he seems to be aware of their problems and tries to aid them when he can. Grackis is sneered at in the corners of the Senate for his "pandering" to the poor and many of the nobles think it is a ploy to curry favor with the lower classes. Nevertheless, whatever the motives, Grackis is, seemingly, a good man. When not at the Senate, can be found at his home.

Bob
Bob is the owner and proprietor of the Shady Tree Inn. No one knows his real name anymore, as everyone simply addresses him by his nickname. This comes from the peculiar way that his adam's apple bobs up and down wildly as he speaks. It has become so that even Bob himself is this way. Bob is a large, balding human male with grease stained clothing. he can usually be seen wearing a stained leather apron. Bob is a miserly man, and he pays his workers as little as possible. But, in these lean times, even this pittance is worth much. His inn has become the focal point of the Adventuring movement and he is now enjoyting the massive increase in business, despite the trouble these rowdy souls bring to his doorstep.

Mary
Mary has auburn hair and a plain face. Her eyes are creased with lines of worry and she looks older than her thirty years. She works at the Shady Tree Inn, and makes barely enough to support herself and her young son Alexander. Widowed shortly after he was born, Mary has lost hope in the future and is resigned to being a serving wench until she is too old to please the customers. Then, she knows, she will be fired and will no doubt end up on the streets. Mary seeks only to provide a good beginning for her son, so that he can make it on his own.

Alexander
This twelve year old human child is Mary's only son. He has brown hair like his mother, cut short and a round, pleasant face. Since becoming friends with Gillam
, the 1/2 orc boy, Alexander once dreamt of being a gladiator and fighting in the arena. A near-death experience he and Gillam shared while "training" for this new profession has changed his ambitions. Now, Alexander wants to become an adventurer like those who saved his life.

Rowhouse Residents
Like those in the Warehouse District, these souls are only one step away from living on the streets. Their homes are tiny and crowded and their biggest concern is if the rats that scamper across them at night are diseased. Most are perpetually hungry, their diet consisting mostly of the rats they catch and the meager vegetables they can buy or steal from the small area gardens. These citizens are desperate and will do nearly anything to escape their situation. As such, they are a good source of "fodder" for the criminal element who have no wish to be caught by the guard themselves.

Citizen's Huts Dwellers
A step up from the rowhouses, these citizens are still poor but through luck or other means have scraped together enough income to live in private dwellings and avoid the cramped, disease ridden rowhouses. While not much better off, these people count themselves lucky.

Family Homes Citizens
Having the best conditions in this district, these are the truly "lucky" ones. These homes are usually clean and neat, a silent protest against the horrendous conditions of their neighbors. The houses are small but the families which dwell here are comfortable. These are citizens with low-paying jobs or another source of steady income. Many are widows of Legion members, surviving on the pensions of their husbands killed in battle.
